Second years's work

Documentary Project _ Interviewing people whom I met in the market on the road. Why you are selling somthing on the road.

Left Alone

I always think about relationship with people in my life. I think it is very important parts of life. That is why I chose last project was about love story. When I research about the story of love, I found quite interesting story in very old Korean song in around BC108 years. The story is the worker has white hair got drowned at sea with shaking off his wife’s hands. After it his wife sang a song in a mist of tears. When I read the story, an inspiration burst upon me. I researched images of tears, sea, love, and hurt. I made efforts to combine all together in one big image, name of love.

Time

Most of ideas of this work were from the word, passing time. During the research about passing time, I came across some ideas how could make passing time through the moving image. Everyone has the hair and they are getting changed through the time. They might remember their past with different hairstyles. In my case, I remember the time when I had got the first haircut. I remember an indefinable sensation at the moments and imagine what I looked like. This is very personal memory, but this could be for everyone. I wanted to show everyone’s memory.

The Feeling

I focused on the feeling of people. They could have different feelings, even if they do same actions. I filmed people jumping. They looked be happy when I filmed at the moments, but I thought they might have different situations. I tired to express their feelings through the music and sounds. I gathered all sounds like a sound of footprints, and then I captured over hundred images of people jumping.
